What you get
What your studio setup turns on
When you create your site from this page, BuiltLong suggests these features as your starting point. You confirm them before anything changes, and you can turn any of them off later.
- 01Website · Free
A studio site families can read on a phone
Say what you teach, who you teach, where lessons happen, your tuition range, and how soon you reply. Publish on a free builtlong.com address, or add your own domain.
- 02Inquiries · Free
Lesson inquiries with the details you need
Families choose from the lesson types and start times you list, pick a budget range, and tell you about the student. Each inquiry arrives by email and in your inbox, with where it came from.
- 03Availability · Status on Free, weekly openings on Plus
Weekly openings and a waitlist
Post the recurring times you want to fill with the day, time, timezone, ages, and whether lessons are in person or online. Mark each one open or waitlist. Families see times to ask about, not bookings.
- 04Recurring services · Plus
Monthly tuition, paid straight to you
Publish a tuition plan with the price, lesson length, and lessons per month. A caregiver enrolls the student and pays by card each month. The money goes to your connected payment account, never through BuiltLong, and both of you keep the receipts.
- 05Managed Ads · Plus
Search ads measured by lesson inquiries
On Plus, connect a Google Ads account you own, set daily and monthly limits, and approve BuiltLong's management access. Google Ads access opens after BuiltLong reviews the plan, and account changes are turned on for the studio after that review. You pay ad spend directly.

Bright Path Learning, as clients see it
Bright Path Learning is one of the five fictional businesses BuiltLong is tested against. It tutors rather than teaches music, but it runs the model most lesson studios run: weekly after-school openings, a waitlist, a caregiver who pays monthly, and a student who attends.
Online across the United States · Eastern Time
Steady one-to-one learning support for middle-school students.
Bright Path pairs practical study systems with patient, individual instruction so students can build confidence without another high-pressure program.

How it works
From first inquiry to enrolled student
- 01
Publish your studio site
Add your instruments, ages and levels, lesson format, tuition range, and reply time. Nothing is public until you publish.
- 02
Families ask about lessons
The inquiry asks for the lesson type, a start time, a budget range, and a note about the student. You decide who is a fit and reply from your email.
- 03
Arrange a trial lesson
Set up the trial your usual way. BuiltLong does not book it for you. If you charge for trials, turn on one-time payment requests.
- 04
Enroll the student
Send the family your tuition plan. The caregiver signs in with an emailed code, names the student, and pays the first month. Later months renew on their own until the plan is canceled.
Pricing
Free and Plus
Your studio site, lesson inquiries, and waitlist status are on Free. Weekly openings and tuition plans need Plus.
Free
$02% fee on payments you collect
Your site, the inquiry form, availability status, and one-time payment requests such as a consultation or deposit. Free never expires.
Plus
$9a month or $99 a year · 1% fee on payments you collect
Everything in Free, plus proposals with approved times and booking deposits, recurring services, invitation-only client spaces with shared boards, discussion, and review decisions, weekly openings, and managers. Seven-day Plus trial, once per owner workspace. No card required.
- The money goes straight to your connected payment account, never through BuiltLong, and pays out to your bank. Card processing and ad spend are separate from the BuiltLong fee.
- A custom domain is a $99 yearly add-on on either plan. An eligible .com is registered, connected, and renewed for you.
- Managed Ads is available on Plus for a Google Ads account you own, within the spending limits you approve, with ad spend paid to Google directly.
Boundaries
What BuiltLong does not do for music teachers
BuiltLong covers the path from first look to enrolled student. Keep your studio-management app for the rest.
- Attendance, makeup credits, lesson notes, or practice tracking
- Recital planning
- Calendar sync or automatic lesson booking
- Payroll or teacher assignment for multi-teacher schools
- Student accounts. The caregiver signs in and pays, and the student is named on the plan.
Questions
Questions about BuiltLong for music teachers
Do families see my whole calendar?
No. BuiltLong never reads your calendar. Families see only the weekly openings you post and whether each is open or waitlisted. You confirm the actual lesson time with the family.
Can BuiltLong collect monthly tuition?
Yes, on Plus. Publish a tuition plan with the price, lessons per month, and lesson length. Families pay by card each month to your connected payment account. Plus is $9 a month or $99 a year, with a 1% fee on payments you collect. Card processing is separate.
Can a parent pay for a child's lessons?
Yes. The person who pays and the student can be different people, and the plan records both. Adult students can enroll and pay for themselves.
What happens when my studio is full?
Set your status to waitlist or mark single openings as waitlisted. Your site stays up, families can still send an inquiry to join the waitlist, and current families keep paying as usual.
Do I have to give up my studio software?
No. BuiltLong handles the site, inquiries, and tuition. Attendance, makeup credits, lesson notes, and recitals can stay in the tools you use now.
Will BuiltLong advertise my studio?
Yes, on Plus. You connect a Google Ads account you own, set daily and monthly limits, and approve BuiltLong's management access. Google Ads access opens after BuiltLong reviews the plan, and account changes are turned on for the studio after that review. You pay ad spend directly.
